CLOSED: Platform Lab

Platform Arts is seeking expressions of interest from artists across all disciplines for Platform LAB, their flagship artist development program aimed at increasing industry expertise and live presentation outcomes for emerging and early-career contemporary artists.

Platform LAB will support participating artists and collectives through a seven-month residency that finances professional and creative development, culminating in new artistic works to be presented locally and toured at national festivals, organisations and events.

The 2021 program will provide:

• $5000 in direct financial support, plus in-kind services and training.
• In-kind studio, rehearsal, and gallery/performance space at Platform Arts
• Participation in two LAB Intensives facilitated by Platform Arts staff and leading local and international artists
• Free participation in Platform Arts’ Platform Professional Development program
• On-going mentorship and support from Platform programming and producing staff
• Technical and marketing/media support from Platform staff
• Industry previews of artists’ work (online and in person)
• Assistance with touring opportunities with partnering organisations and festivals
